Mathematics is a language, and as such has standards of writing which should be observed. In a writing class, one must respect the rules of grammar and punctuation, one must write in organized paragraphs built with complete sentences, and the final draft must be a neat paper with a title. Similarly, there are certain standards for mathematical assignments:
#1 Use standard-sized college-ruled or wide-ruled paper (8.5" x 11").
#2 Do your work in pencil only. Use an eraser if you make a mistake.
#3 Please write legibly.
#4 Write each problem below the preceding one, a maximum of two columns are allowed.
#5 Keep your work within the margins.I expect all assignments to utilize the following format:

#5 Keep your work within the margins.I expect all assignments to utilize the following format:
- Write out every problem (you may summarize word problems).
- Show your work (thought process) and circle your answer.
- Skip a line before writing the next problem.
